ELIOZER CASTILLO MACAPINLAC ALONZO

July 11, 1925 - July 26, 2015

It is with great sorrow to let you know that Mrs. Eliozer Castillo Macapinlac Alonzo, the matriarch of the ALONZO CLAN at 90 y/o passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 in Ontario, Canada. Below you'll find a well-written obituary by one of her 13 children, Bruno M. Alonzo, Jr., Past President and Member - Board of Directors of the PaniqueniansUSA, Inc and Founder of Bagong Sinag, a charitable foundation serving the disabled and indigent children of Paniqui, Tarlac.
Let us pray for the eternal repose of the soul of our sister-in-Christ, Eliozer M. Alonzo. May She Rest In Peace!

Mrs. Eliozer Castillo Macapinlac Alonzo

(July 11, 1925 – July 26, 2015)

Gifted with longevity and 13 sons and daughters, Eliozer peacefully passed away last Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Markhaven Home for the Seniors at Stouffville, Ontario, Canada. She was the youngest of 6 brothers and sisters and was born in Santa Ines, Santa Ignacia, Tarlac to Lucio Macapinlac and Alvina Castillo Macapinlac. She got married at a young age to Bruno Alonzo, Sr. and in 1950 with 4 children, they moved to Paniqui, Tarlac where for the longest they settled and called it their home – they then had more children, and raised all 13 children at Palarca Street located behind the public market. Just like the traditional family unit in a small town, Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo had a simple but determined dream for their children – to see them get their education and become worthy citizens.
They went on and strived to attain the best they can and improved their skill sets. It was a tremendous challenge with that many children – but they eventually succeeded. In helping provide for the family, Mrs. Alonzo studied and graduated first honor in her dressmaking class at the then famous Wilhelmina Fashion School, owned by the Lumaquin family. Bruno Alonzo, Sr. studied and graduated first honor in his Automotive Mechanic Program at the Trade Department of the then Central Institute of Technology.

In 1979, Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo, along with 5 of the youngest (11 to 20 years old) of the 13 sons and daughters migrated to Canada and joined their son, Bruno Jr., in Scarborough, Canada where they live in the area through to these days. Today, her legacy to the ALONZO-MACAPINLAC CLAN brings a total of 120 (63-Canada; 48-USA, 9 Philippines) living or surviving direct descendants – sons/daughters and spouses, grandchildren and spouses, and great grand children. Mrs. Alonzo was predeceased by her husband, Bruno Alonzo, Sr. and the oldest son, Alfredo Alonzo. She is survived by her 12 of the 13 sons and daughters, and their respective spouses: (1) Fely Alonzo Vistan - Jose Vistan (d); (2) Remy Alonzo Gaor - Ronnie Gaor (d); (3) Alfredo Alonzo (d) – Mellie Martinez (d), Jessica Villarosa; (4) Avelino Alonzo – Merle Alameda (s); Josephine Torres (5) Bruno Alonzo, Jr. - Elizabeth De Aquino; (6) Ernesto Alonzo – Ofelia Navarro (d); (7) Alberto Alonzo - Lourdes Hilario Alonzo; (8) Honorio Alonzo - Marilyn Beltran Alonzo; (9) Gloria Alonzo Rosario - Gerry Rosario; (10) Mary Ann Alonzo Butac - Ed Butac (s); (11) Gina Alonzo Cardona - Bien Cardona; (12) Dante Alonzo - Natori; (13) Alicia Alonzo Lombardi-Rocco Lombardi.
She is survived by her 42 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
